Jersey Surf School

BRAND STRATEGY | VISUAL IDENTITY | PHOTOGRAPHY

Based at Le Braye Surfschool, in front of the iconic Rocco Tower, The Jersey Surf School is the island’s original surf school.

When good friend, founder of The Mango Tree, and renowned local surfer, Jake Powell took over the business, he gave me the privilege of creating an updated visual identity for the school. The goal was to create something that nodded to Jersey’s long-standing surf scene, which began back in the 1960s.

With influence from old graphic references, including archived competition posters, T-shirt designs, and Advertisements, we deciphered a colour palette and typographic system that led us to create an inventory of lock-ups that could be used as a toolkit throughout various touch points in the brand system. This system includes the school’s online presence and physical presence with deliverables including social media posts, merchandise and banners to be placed on the beach.

I was also tasked with a photo shoot that included photos on land and in the water, showcasing the school’s location and the summer classes that took place.
